The article introduces professor ZHAN Zhaowei＇s experience in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis（CAG）. Deficiency of spleen and stomach is the main pathological basis of the disease,the dampheat and blood stasis are the main pathological factors. The combination of tongue inspection and gastroscopy is the main diagnostic method. The syn- drome differentiation is flexible, and it is not rigidly adhere to the rule. In the aspect of treatment, strengthening the spleen and stomach, removing heat and dampness, removing blood stasis are the treatment for the pathological products. At the same time, the use of adjunctive therapy, paying attention to diet and emotional health and drugs with nature features are suitable for long term therapy.
