Prospecting for the north-easterly periphery of Damaping peridot ore in Wanquan County,Hebei Province

河北省万全县大麻坪曾是我国著名的大型优质橄榄绿宝石矿产地,但由于长期的开采利用,原有储量已基本开采殆尽,亟需探寻新矿体,扩大资源远景,以满足市场的需求。大麻坪东北外围——小麻坪一带,其地质特征与大麻坪相同,均有第三系汉诺坝玄武岩分布,玄武岩中含橄榄石包体,因地表部位多数橄榄石粒度较小,长期以来一直被否定。经进一步地质调查发现,地表局部亦有大粒橄榄石存在,具很大的找矿远景。通过对大麻坪矿区与小麻坪一带地质特征的分析与对比,提出大麻坪东北外围为找矿远景区域,为继续找矿提供参考依据。

Damaping in Wanquan County,Hebei Province,used to be a famous of large peridot ore district in our country.However,its proved reserves had been almost depleted because of long-term exploitation and utilization.Exploiting new ore body and enlarging resource reserves are urgently needed to meet the market requirement.Xiaomaping,the north-easterly periphery of Damaping,its geologic features is similar to Damaping,has plentiful Tertiary Hannuoba basalt which containing peridot inclusions.However,because the majority of peridot particles in the earth＇s surface of this area are small size,its potentialhad been negated for a long time.Further investigation showed that it is valuable in ore prospecting on account of the exist of larger peridot in this area.Through the analysis and comparison of geological characteristics between the Damaping mining area and Xiamaping area,this paper suggested that the north-easterly periphery of Damaping could be prospecting potentialregion,and provided references for further exploration discovery.
