Exploration of “Ecological Justice” from the Perspective of Historical Materialism

历史唯物主义为我们领会当代生态正义问题提供了思想基础,即从社会权力体系的性质、结构及其变迁中分析生态利益关系。历史唯物主义为解决当代生态正义问题提供了方法论,即自觉建构社会主义权力体系是实现当代生态正义的前提和基础。上述思想基础和方法论对于当代中国社会现实的启示意义在于,要解决环境公正问题不能仅仅着眼于分配环节的改革或生态伦理的教化,而必须依托社会主义权力体系自觉建构的整体化过程,遏制环境治理中资本与政治权力的合谋是实现生态正义的根本。

Historical materialism offers rationale for us to comprehend contemporary ecological justice,which means to analyze the ecological interests from the nature, structure and change of the social powersystem. At the same time, it offers a methodology for solving contemporary ecological justice problems, whichconsiders the conscious construction of socialist system of power as the premise and foundation of realizingcontemporary ecological justice. Both the thought basis and methodology are significant to China in that in orderto solve the problem of environmental justice, we should not only focus on the reform of the allocation process orthe teaching of ecological ethics, but must rely on the whole process of the self-consciously constructed socialistpower system. To curb the collusion of capital and political power in environmental governance is fundamentalto realizing ecological justice.
