Breaking the Wind Down is a full-length novel written by Guo Xin, a writer from Henan. Withthe struggles of Liu Xiangmin, Yan Sha and Ma Li from Miru Mountain as the main line and Lai Qian who earnsa living by rubbing back for customers in the public bath house as side line, the novel depicts the life andstruggle of those grassroots people. Lai Qian, one of the humble people from the bottom of the society, serves asan introduction to the main characters. With a few words, the writer portrayed a simple, optimistic and noble-minded man who values feeling and loyalty.
