自由中的不自由——以格雷马斯的符号矩阵分析电影《楚门的世界》

Unfreedom in Freedom:Greimas' Semiotic Rectangle in "Truman Show"

《楚门的世界》以独特的空间风格,视点镜头和圆形遮罩画幅的方式给予了观众一种独特的观影快感,但是这些都是表层次的。任何一部影片都会形成一个叙事结构系统,只有清楚该系统中各个要素之间的关系及其深层结构,才能揭示出故事的叙事目的,从而了解故事深层结构中符号要素所隐藏的意义。运用格雷马斯叙事学中的符号矩阵理论,从一个新的视角来对影片人物之间的关系和影片叙事进行深入分析,从而揭示影片在格雷马斯矩阵下的深层次内涵,以及在这内涵之后所引发的对自由的深层次思考。

"Truman Show" gives the audience a unique viewing pleasure with distinctive space style,viewpoint lens and circular masking frame,but these things are superficial.Every film can form a narrative structure system,only a clear relationship between each element and deep structure in the system,we can reveal the narrative purpose of the story,so as to comprehend the hidden meaning of the symbolic elements in the deep structure of the story.This paper aims to make a deep analysis of the relationship between the characters and the narration of the film from a new perspective through the application of Semiotic Rectangle by A.J.Greimas,so as to reveal the connotation of the film in view of Semiotic Rectangle.
