Logical Grammatical Metaphor: A Local Grammar Perspective

因果关系局部语法利用科技论文语料库,基于因果关系功能范畴与高频动词、名词、形容词因果关系型式之间的映射关系,构造逻辑语法隐喻式的多个因果关系局部语法构型。通过语境、词汇语法不可分性和聚合—组合关系三个方面的比较,发现因果关系局部语法可以验证逻辑语法隐喻的科学语篇促成性,在构造科学知识的逻辑推理语境中完善及物语法构型,描写逻辑隐喻式的型式复杂性,显化隐喻式的"语义差异",为阐释形义张力和语义交联的动因提供一个新的视角和方法。由此,语料库语言学与系统功能语言学对话的基础可进一步加强,对话空间进一步扩展,在语言使用的意义研究中可实现进一步融合。

Using a specific corpus of biomedical research articles, local grammar of cause and effect describes the mapping of causation-oriented functional categories onto frequent verb/noun/adjective patterns of cause and effect, and thus construes variable local grammar configurations of cause and effect for logical grammatical metaphoric forms. The subsequent discussion centers on the notion of context, the inseparability of lexis and grammar and the comparison between paradigmatic relationship and syntagmatic relationship. It was found that local grammar of cause and effect verifies the association of logical grammatical metaphor （LGM） with science discourse, localizes transitivity grammatical configuration of metaphoric forms by reference to logical reasoning in scientific knowledge construction, complements group complexity of LGM with pattern complexity, explicates ＂semantic gap＂ between metaphoric forms and congruent forms, and provides a new perspective and approach to specifying the motivation of stratal tension between form and meaning and semantic junction in LGM. In this sense, the dialogic foundation between CL and SFL is strengthened and the dialogic space is expanded, thus offering more opportunities for integration in the study of language in use.
