摘要
隐喻是人类基本的认知方式。传统隐语观视隐喻为语言现象,一种修辞手法,而认知隐喻观将隐喻视为思维和推理的方式。概念隐喻也称隐性概念,是认知模式的基本类型,是思维的基本特征。通过对中英文经济语篇中的概念隐喻进行量化研究,作者发现,结构隐喻、方位隐喻和实体隐喻被大量运用在经济语篇中。本文以中英文主流杂志如《财经》、《商业周刊》和《金融时报》中的经济语篇为语料,通过对比分析,旨在探究英汉经济语篇中概念隐喻的特点、异同及其成因。
Metaphor is a fundamental cognitive style of human beings. The traditional view on metaphor takes it as a language phenomenon and a matter of rhetoric discourse in the comparison of literary works,while the contemporary view on metaphor regards it as a tool of thinking or reasoning. Conceptual metaphor,as the basic pattern of cognition, is also called metaphorical concept. Qualitative evidence shows that conceptual metaphors,especially structural metaphors,orientational metaphors and ontological metaphors are pervasively exploited in economic discourse. This paper gives a comparison between Chinese and English conceptual metaphors in economic discourse such as Finance Observation,Business Week,the Wall Street Journal and makes a study of the similarities and differences between them.
