How to understand the concept of Confucianism is the question that Cui Dahua consistently worked onthroughout his whole life. Confucianism is a system of "Ethic and Morality" for Cui, and he has insisted on this idea formore than three decades since 1980 s till his death at the year of 2013. As to the question of whether or notConfucianism is a religion, based on his understanding of Confucianism, he gave a negative answer. Moreover, his viewof religion or Religiousness—a concept which is mainly discussed as to the question of whether Confucianism is areligion—is vary due to reason that he was influenced by such various thoughts as Marxism, modern Neo-Confucianismand Neo-orthodoxy in his life.
