随着医疗技术的不断进步，更好的保存或改善颅底肿瘤患者的生活质量逐渐成为评价医疗措施的客观依据之一，常用的评估生活质量的工具是量表。早期应用于颅底肿瘤患者的普适性量表和用于头颈部肿瘤的特异性生活质量量表灵敏度低，没有关注到颅底肿瘤在症状方面和生活质量上的独特性，以至于无法识别不同的颅底区域的疾病在生活质量上的差别，在此背景下产生了颅底肿瘤患者生活质量特异性量表。

With the continuous improvement of medical technology, preservation or improvement of a better quality of life in patients with skull base tumors has become an objective basis for evaluating medical measures. The scale is the commonly used tool for assessing quality of life. There are some shortcomings in early adopted universal scales for patients with skull base tumors and specific quality of life scales for head and neck cancer, such as its low sensitivity, neglecting the specificity of the skull base tumor in terms of symptoms and quality of life. The difference of quality of life in in different skull base areas cannot be identified by these tools for the forementioned shortcomings. In this context, a quality of life-specific scale for patients with skull base tumors was generated.
