探索式学习、利用式学习与新生态系统——基于IMAX公司组织成长策略的案例研究

Exploratory learning,Exploitative Learning and New Ecosystem:A Case Study on the Growth Strategy of IMAX Corporation

全球电影行业发展迅速,随着市场的全球化、新技术与竞争对手的不断涌现,以及外部环境的快速变化,电影科技娱乐企业在自身的成长中面临无限的机遇和挑战。本文研究了IMAX公司从科教影院转向商业影院市场的组织成长策略,通过对其四阶段组织成长过程中重要事件、产品市场、销售模式和主要合作方的比较和剖析,提出企业能够通过新生态系统中的社会网络关系有效解决资源的分配限制,并处理好当前和未来的经济利益关系,以此实现组织转型过程中探索式学习和利用式学习的平衡。本文对探索和利用的双元平衡研究,尤其是双元平衡方法提供了一定的理论启示价值,同时对企业转型具有一定的实践意义。

The global film industry has made a rapid development nowadays. With the market glo-balization, emerging new technology and competitors, and the rapid changes in the external envi-ronment ？ firms in the film industry are facing much more opportunities and challenges as well. We have studied the organizational growth strategy of IMAX Corporation in the transformationfrom a science and education oriented to commercial cinema one, and divided the transformation process into four stages of organizational growth through the comparison and analysis of its major events, product markets, sales models and main partners. We suggest that the firm in question can effectively address the allocation of resources and deal with the conflict of current and future economic interests through a new ecosystem, thus realize the balance between exploratory lear-ning and exploitative learning in the process of organizational transformation. We provide some theoretical implications for the ambidexterity research and also some practical implications for the organizational transformation.
