亚瑟·韦利《猴》的叙事再建构——一项基于语料库的研究

摘要 亚瑟·韦利根据中国古典小说《西游记》节译的《猴》出版后大受好评,经企鹅等西方出版社多次再版,成功进入西方的文学世界。在语料库研究的基础上,统计了韦利英译本及原作的词频、关键词及关键词索引行,从标题、文本素材选择性以及人物事件的再定位,研究了韦利对小说《西游记》进行的叙事再建构。在英译本《猴》中,韦利强调了中国宗教哲学思想和民间传说的特点,突出主要人物孙悟空的形象。作品主题鲜明,语言幽默风趣,成功地赢得了西方读者的认可。尽管译作的部分叙事已脱离了原著,但是译本的叙事再建构对中国经典如何走入西方文学世界仍有一定的借鉴意义。 Having been reprinted dozens of times by major publishers like Penguin Group, Monkey by Arthiur Waley has been a suc-cess since its publication in 1940s. On the basis of corjDus study, the paper studies the frequencies, key words and concordance lines of the key words of the abridgement. It analyses the reframing of the narrative from the foregrounding of the title, the selective appro-priation and the reposition of the participants. Waley accentuates the relationship among the foregrounds Monkey, the protagonist with the contrast of Tripitaka. With highlighted theme and humorous colloquialism, the abridge-ment gains popularity among the western readers. Though some narratives are deviated from the source text, it is of instruction to theChinese classics acceptance into western literature.
