功能文体学视域下动物小说翻译的文体风格再现

Stylistic Reproduction in the Translation of Animal Fiction from the Perspective of Functional Stylistics

动物小说的翻译并非简单地还原语义,更重要的是文体风格的再现。本文以功能文体学为理据,认为动物小说的文体风格是在以一定叙述视角展现自然背景下的动物生存斗争和动物与人矛盾关系的过程中,由功能显耀的语言集中表达的思想、情感和审美特质的统一体。译者应以语言凸显功能,功能凝聚思想、情感和审美特质为出发点,具体语篇具体分析,切实在译文中再现原文的文体风格。

The translation of animal fiction is not merely the reproduction of meaning,but more importantly the reproduction of its style.Based upon functional stylistics,this paper interprets the style of animal fiction as unity of mind,emotion and aesthetic qualities attached to three prominent metafunctions of language which depicts the struggle of animals for survival and the conflicting relationship between animals and human beings in the natural environment from a certain narrative perspective.Translators should realize that linguistic prominence highlights metafunctions,and prominence of metafunctions highlights mind,emotion and aesthetic qualities when dealing with specific animal fiction,so as to fully reproduce the style of original texts in the translation.
