West-China's Ecology and Coordinated Economic Development:Dilemma and Solutions

西部地区在新一轮大开发中承担着经济建设和生态环境保护的双重任务,在这关键时刻,如何从理论上把握经济再生产过程与自然再生产过程相互影响的逻辑关系,从实践上正确认识西部地区经济社会、生态环境的基本情况,运用各种增长理论、新的研究成果及新的技术和新的方法,探究利用生态环境的自我修复、自净能力及自然资源的再生能力来发展经济的方式,探寻生态环境与经济协调发展的具体路径,为实现可持续发展提供新思路是一个值得研究的重要课题。

In the new West-China economic development there exist the dual tasks of economic development and ecological protection. At this critical moment, we should properly handle the logical relationship between economic and natural reproduction processes in theory, correctly understand West-China＇ s economic, social and ecological reality in practice, make use of various theories of growth and new research achievements as well as new technologies and methods, and explore feasible ways of economic development by a combination of ecological self-recovery and self-cleansing capacity and the reproduction capacity of natural resources. It is hoped that ecology and coordinated economic development can be well balanced for the sake of sustainable development.
