Shaft keyslot symmetry is an important parameter affecting the accuracy of shaft torque. The design example of functional gauge for shaft keyslot symmetry is not demonstrated in new national standard of the GB-T 8069-1998 （functional gauges）. This paper introduces the design steps of functional gauge for shaft keyslot symmetry. The design process can provide a reference for the design of the similar gauge.
