As the blood of national defense and equipment development, the U. S. defense budget and investment in equipment are the basic indicators that signifies the key direction of U. S. defense and equipment construction and the amount of investment resources. This article analyzes the national defense budget and equipment investment since the Korean War, and analyzes the dimensions of the budget of the Ministry of National Defense, the equipment budget, the equipment budget of various services, and the nature of the budget, the budget stage and the budget category. The analysis depicts the changes in U. S. defense budget and sums up the characteristics and rules of the U.S. equipment investment from a longer historical dimension.
