The main. defects ,existing in plat~ produced in the heavy and their morphology characteristics were introduced, and through plate production line of Laiwu Steel study on the morphology of defects, the reasons for the formation of defects were analyzed. Combined with the current condition of production line, the main preventive measures and suggestions for dealing with similar problems were given out.
