八块瓦厝的设计概念来自台湾文化中根深柢固的田园风光,全屋带出被遗忘的台湾美学,重新以现代设计演译,巨细无遗呈现出自然和纯朴的乡土风情。用色和装饰故意低调,特显每种物料的质地。室内设计反映屋主白手兴家的故事,将一种台湾草根的拼博精神代代相传。

The design concept for this residence takes cues from the rural lifestyle ingrained in Taiwan Residents culture. The house reworks the forgotten Taiwan Residents aesthetic into the modern design vocabulary, putting nature and grits onto the centerstage of the house. The lack of colour and excessive decor accentuates a charming modesty and reduces every material to its essence. The whole design reflects the story of the house owner, who worked his way up from the bottom and wants to commemorate the Taiwan Residents grassroots spirit in this exquisite mansion to be passed on for generations.
