口误及其翻译探析

An Exploration of the Translation of Slip of the Tongue

口误大多是无意识的产物,却常被有意识地运用于文学作品或现实交际,达到嬉笑怒骂、幽默诙谐等效果。在英汉两种不同的语言机制下,译者面临口误是否可译,若可译该如何转化口误的内容和形式,实现口误效果等诸多翻译问题。事实上,口误在功能对等理论下具有可译性,应以"口误译口误"为原则,采取"全面保留""舍型取意"和"等值再造"等翻译方法进行口误翻译。

The slip of the tongue is often made unintentionally in daily life. But in literary works, it is intentionally employed to create humor. Because of the different features between Chinese and English, it is argued whether it can be translated. If it is possible to translate the slip of the tongue, how to translate its content and forms to realize its humor is worthy of discussion. In fact, under the theory of functional equivalence the slip of the tongue absolutely can be rendered. It puts forward the translation strategy of ＂using the slip of the tongue to translate the slip of the tongue＂, based on which translators can accomplish the translation by employing three translation methods, namely ＂to preserve both content and form＂, ＂to preserve content only＂ and ＂to preserve the function of slip of the tongue＂.
