In order to enable the appraisal of the operational performance of the coal preparation plant operating in a professional management mode to be made in a more standardized manner, and in view of the characteristics of this kind of management mode in practice at other plants, the author clearly defines the points requiring attention at the time when a contract is made, gives a detailed account of the particulars for making assessment of operational performance, and points out the necessity of making modifications of assessment items according to the characteristics of different operating stages.
