电报通信与清末“东南互保”研究——兼论晚清电报技术的政治影响

"东南互保"是近代中国具有深远影响的政治事件。这场事件中,清廷、地方督抚、各国列强、义和团等多种力量相互交织,构成了一幅错综复杂的政治图景。通过电报技术,东南各省督抚形成了一个政治关系网络,促成了临时的政治结盟。电报通信问题贯穿了整个"东南互保"的始终,各方的利益与筹谋都在电报通信问题上得到展示。将电报通信作为研究线索,可以考查"东南互保"期间的政治力量整合与政治秩序重构,进而分析电报技术与清末政治的内在联系与历史互动。

The ＂Joint Defence of the Southeast＂ was a political event which had profound influence upon modem China. During the turbulent period, various forces of the Qing court, local governors, foreign powers and the Boxers were interwoven together, which portrayed an intricate political picture. With the physical connection provided by telegraph technology, governors of southeastern provinces built a political network and formed a temporary political alliance. Telegraph communication played a crucial role throughout the ＂Joint Defence of the Southeast＂. Planning and interests of all concerned forces were embodied in telegraph communication. Taking telegraph communication as a research clue, we can study the integration of political powers and the reconstruction of political order during the ＂Joint Defence of the Southeast＂. Furthermore, we can analyze the internal connection and the historical interaction between telegraph technology and politics in late Qing Dynasty.
