论蔡元培的宗教观

Cai Yuanpei's Religious View

中国著名的教育家蔡元培具有自己的宗教观。他就宗教的定义和命运,宗教与科学、哲学、文学的关系,以美术和美育代宗教发表了诸多见解。本文对他的宗教观做了全面的梳理和必要的评论,尤其就他的最核心的观点做了进一步的沉思,并提出作者自己的看法:宗教必将在一个较长的历史时期自行消逝;宗教不是美育或其他某种单一的东西所能取代的,取代它的是远大的理想、高洁的价值坐标和人生观、人与人之间深厚的感情、对科学和文化创新的追求等等东西的复合。

Chinese famous educator Cai Yuanpei had his own religious view. He put forward several ideas on the definition and fate of religion, the relationship between religion, science, philosophy and literature, as well as the replacement of religion by fine arts and aesthetic education. This article makes the comprehensive clarification and necessary comment on his religious view, especially makes the further medication on his central view and suggests its author＇s opinions： religion will inevitably vanish in the long history; religion can＇t be replaced by aesthetic education or any other single things, but by the complex matrix which consists of ambitious ideals, noble and unsullied value coordinates and life view, human beings＇ deep emotion, the pursuit of scientific and cultural innovations, and so on.
