This paper introduces the main work of carrying out the technical status assessment before the ships long mission, which includes the evaluation of the overall technical status of the ship and the technical status of the equipment. The paper puts forward the principle of selecting the important equipment which affects the navigation task, analyzes the operation process and precautions of the technical status assessment, and provides reference for the maintenance and repair work before the ship＇s long.
