The establishment of the Yushitai temple in Tang Dynasty and its inscription don' t reflect that the idea of the combination of politics and religion existed in the administrative measures in Tang Dynasty' s prisons. Therefore, Yushitai Temple Monument does not indicate that Wu Zetian tried to influence the guilty of- ficials by Buddhism, thus the Yushitai temple is also not the place that guilty officials can introspect and reform themselves in front of the Buddhist statue. Actually, Yushitai Temple is an unofficial place where the officials of Yushitai could bless and seek psychological comfort in the latter ruling period of Wu Zetian when oppressive officials were severely punished and injustice cases commonly existed.
