It discusses how to improve the early strength of concrete in winter, according to the characteristics of the cement hydrates and the influence of admixture on cement hydration. The effect of early strength agent is affected by cement composition. For this reason, the increase of the early strength of concrete is limited by adding early strength agent. So, attention should be paid to the effect of insulation or external heating on improving the early strength of concrete in winter.
