首航中国的法国商船“安菲特里特号”兴衰史--兼论“安菲特里特号”与广州湾之关系

The Glorious Beginning and Dismal End of the French Frigate,“The I'Amphitrite”;the First Vessel to Officially Inaugurate French Commerce with China's Mainland:The Relationship Between the “Amphitrite” and Kouang-Tcheou-Wan

在商业利益、耶稣会士所谋求的宗教利益,以及法国贵族对中国的浓厚兴趣、"王家中国公司"和路易十四的非凡想象力的驱使下,"安菲特里特号"分别于1698年和1702年两度驶向中国,成为促使中法两国向对方敞开大门的工具。但是,这艘由私营机构运营的原法国军舰,从激动人心的商业冒险开始,逐渐过渡到涉足剥削、人性堕落和罔顾道德的奴隶贩卖的冒险,变为那个时代的囚犯。1898年,法国在强行租借广州湾时重提"安菲特里特号",把旧时法国与中国的联系当作了侵占中国的借口。1940年11月,法国再次提起"安菲特里特号"远航中国的故事,强调法国在广州湾已有很长的历史,目的是为防止日本侵略者接管广州湾租借地,或拖延其接管的时间。

Driven by commercial interests and religious interests of by the Jesuits,together with the great interests of China from the French nobility,with the extraordinary imagination of the " Compagnie Royale de Chine" and Louis XIV,the"Amphitrite"made two trips to China's Mainland in the years 1698-1702,the vessel was instrumental in opening up formal diplomatic relations between China and France.However,this vessel that was leased from the French Royal Navy,was used by the private sector,it was very much the prisoner of its time moving from one exciting business adventure to another which involved the exploitation and degradation of human beings without a thought being given by its owners to the morality of its activities.In 1898,some muted fuss recalling the second voyage by the "l'Amphitrite," when it was beached in China,by the French as a way of a justifying their initial occupation and the leasing from China of what became known as the leasehold of Kouang-Tcheou-Wan.On the 21 st of November,1940,the memory of the two visits by the "l'Amphitrite" to China was resurrected to prevent or delay the takeover of the French leasehold(Kouang-Tcheou-Wan)by the Japanese invaders of China by resurrecting the memory of what the French said was a long French history in China in that territory(Kouang-TcheouWan).
