On Literature and Art for the People's Sake

习近平总书记在党的十九大报告中指出:"社会主义文艺是人民的文艺,必须坚持以人民为中心的创作导向,在深入生活、扎根人民中进行无愧于时代的文艺创造。要繁荣文艺创作,坚持思想精深、艺术精湛、制作精良相统一,加强现实题材创作,不断推出讴歌党、讴歌祖国、讴歌人民、讴歌英雄的精品力作。"这些论述充满人民情怀,具有很强的现实针对性。理论工作者应在社会主义民主与法治的基础上,对人类思想史上的有关"人民"以及"人民主权"学说进行全面的梳理,廓清当下社会"人民"概念的内涵、外延,重建一个适宜于社会主义民主法制体系的人民概念,并以此指导文艺实践。

The speech given by Xi Jinping on the Meeting of Artistic Work is full of emotions and cares for the people,and shows a strong practical guidance for the theoretical researchers. He emphasizes that the people should be the focus of any art creation,and the people are art connoisseurs and critics. The literature and art workers should serve the people. The implications of "the people"and "the people's sovereignty"are different in the development history of human thoughts; therefore,theoretical researchers should clarify the concept,connotation and denotation of "the people"in the contemporary context so as to rebuild and enrich the concept of "the people"suitable for the current socialist democratic legal system,and to guide the practice of the creation of literature and art.
