摘要
通过课堂观察形式,主要从教学准备、教学材料、教学方法和步骤、座位安排、对学生表现的反馈、教师角色等几方面对本籍教师和外籍教师的专业英语口语课堂分别进行观察与描述,对比分析结果显示,两位教师的课堂存在较大的差异,而这些差异折射出中西方在个人主义与集体主义、不确定性规避、权力距离等文化维度上的不同。研究结果为专业英语口语教师的配备提供了一些启示与反思。
The oral classrooms for English majors of two teachers respectively from China and Australia were mainly observed and described in the following aspects:teaching preparations,teaching materials,teaching approaches and procedures,seating arrangement,feedback to the students'performance and teachers'roles,etc.The result of comparative analysis shows that there exist differences between the two teachers'classrooms,and these differences reflect Sino-Western cultural differences on such cultural dimensions as individualism versus collectivism,uncertainty avoidance,power distance,etc.The findings provide implications and reflections on the allocation of oral English teachers.
