This paper introduces the types of water damage in coal mines,the characteristics of transient electromagnetic method and application of transient electromagnetic method in water control detection in coal mine and the matters needing attention in order to correctly understand the types of water damage in coal mine,effectively use transient electromagnetic method for detection of water accumulated area in coal mine underground mining face,and improve work efficiency of water control,creating more benefits for the development of coal mine.
