语篇分析与古茶诗翻译的理性阐释——以《七碗茶歌》的英译为例

A Discourse Analysis and Expounding on Tea Poems' English Translation——A Case Study on the Versions of Qi Wan Cha Ge

借助系统功能语法的概念纯理功能,人际纯理功能以及语篇纯理功能,从及物性、语气和情态、主位推进模式三方面对《七碗茶歌》及两种英译本对比分析。分析得出,译者在英译茶诗时最好能够沿用原诗的过程类型、环境成分和参与者,保持原诗的语气和情态,使用原诗的主位推进模式,从诗歌的叙事方式、感情基调和语言架构三方面对译文加以把握。如果出于诗歌整体意象的表达,押韵的需要等原因,可以适当对译文的表达加以调整。因此,译者可以把系统功能语法看做一条准绳,在翻译时比照准绳上下调整。此外,通过分析也证明了系统功能语法应用于茶诗英译的可行性和可操作性,展示了不同于传统的印象式、个人感受式的诗歌诠释方式,为茶诗英译注入了理性思维。

The paper uses conceptional function, interpersonal function and textual function of systemic-functional grammar as theoretical basis, and analyses Qi Wan Cha Ge and its two English versions from the aspects of transi- tivity, mood and modality, and thematic progression. It is found out that the translators had better follow the origi- nal texts＇ process types, environment elements and participants, keep the original mood and modality, and use the original thematic progression. It is suggested that the translators analyze and translate the poems by considering narrative methods, emotion tone and language construction. It is better to make some adjustments of the target po- em for better expression if there are some differences on image, rhyme, etc. between the original and target texts. Thus, the translators can use systemic-functional grammar as an evaluation line to conduct translation. In addition, it proves the feasibility and operability of interpreting translation of tea poems by discourse analysis, and presents a new way of interpreting which is different from the traditional types of impression and experience for expounding poems, which pours reasonable thinking into translation of tea poems.
