民国年间,上海先后创办了《戏杂志》《戏剧月刊》《京戏杂志》《戏报》等近三百种戏剧报刊,这在全国范围内屈指可数。这些报刊刊载了大量的戏曲演出信息、伶人传记、剧本、剧评文章、戏剧改良建议等内容,推动了中国戏剧的发展,也成为研究民国戏剧史的重要资料。随着戏剧报刊的繁荣,无形中培养了人们的阅读习惯,塑造了市民现代性的审美观。

During the Republic of China,there were nearly 300 kinds of drama newspaper and magazines had founded such as Drama magazine,Drama Monthly,Peking Opera magazine and Drama newspaper,which were rare in our country. These journals published a large number of opera performances,actor Biography,scripts,critical articles,advices of improvement and so on. Not only to promote the development of Chinese drama,but also become an important document to study the history of the Republic of China drama. Accompany with the prosperity of the drama press,it had cultivated people's reading habits virtually and shaped the aesthetic of the modern people.
