“游必有方”本义考及其孝道观

The Original Meaning of “Travel in Some Specified Region” and Its Concept of Filial Piety

"游必有方"的传统注解相对模糊,导致如今新解不断,因而有必要对众家所注进行梳理,加以归纳总结,分析其历史来源。通过考求"方"的本义和假借义,可以梳理出引申义,为"游必有方"提供语言学上的依据,从而证实郑玄注的合理性。在此基础上,用宋明儒所阐发的孝道思想来解读"游必有方",发现其背后蕴含着孝道观:知孝更须行孝,尽孝先于尽忠。"游必有方"所包含的孝道观为现代意义上的事亲提供了一定的借鉴作用。

The traditional interpretation of ＂travel in some specified region＂is somewhat vague and thus has led to endless new interpretations.Hence there is need to systemize these interpretations,induce and analyze their historical sources.Through exploring the original meaning and borrowed meaning of＂Fang＂,this article induces the extended meaning of＂travel in some specified region＂so as to provide linguistic basis for it and confirm the rationality of Zheng Xuan＇s commentary.On the basis of this,this paper analyzes the filial piety thought elaborated by Song Confucianists and explores the concept of filial piety embodied in ＂travel in some specified region＂.It better to practice filial piety than to know it,and to practice filial piety should be before practice fidelity.The concept of filial piety embodied in＂travel in some specified region＂may provide some enlightenment for modern filial piety.
