Legal English is a special language with high authority and precision. The traditional translation theory requires the translator to be faithful to the original text in the translation. Because of the differences in language and culture between English and Chinese, the translator needs to carry out creative treason in legal translation. This paper discusses the theoretical and practical significance of creative treason in the practice of legal translation through examples. The content of the source text is reproduced by creative treason, so as to achieve the equivalence of the translation.
