Definition of Cooperative Principle:Revisited

Grice创建合作原则理论来解释会话含意的产生机制,但是并没有清楚界定各个准则。根据排中律的理念,我们排除了关系准则,并重新界定合作原则的各个准则。其中修正幅度较大的是质量准则,由原来的两个次准则缩减成一个,修正幅度最大的是方式准则,由原来的四个次准则缩减到两个。本文希望修正后的理论在实际的话语分析中具有更大的可操作性。

Grice puts forward Cooperative Principle(CP)to illustrate how conversational implicature is derived.The maxims of CP,however,are not well defined.Therefore,according to the law of complementariness,we,hoping to make CP more operational in the practice of discourse analysis,omit relevance maxim and delimit the boundary of the new maxims.Specifically,the two submaxims of the quality maxim are cut down into one and the four submaxims of the manner maxim are cut down into two submaxims.
