英语学习者派生词的词素与重音意识 被引量:2

Sensitivity to Morpheme Structure and Word Stress in Chinese English Learners

摘要 采用两项实验研究英语学习者是否具备词素意识和重音意识。实验一词汇判断任务发现,被试对有词素结构假派生词的识别判断难于无词素结构的假派生词,说明被试具有词素意识,但与英语水平无关。因不同后缀决定派生词的重音位置的不同,实验二要求被试朗读由中性或非中性后缀构成的假派生词。结果发现被试具有重音意识,且重音意识与英语水平显著相关。上述两项实验表明,以汉语为母语的英语学习者具有词素意识和重音意识。 Two experiments were adopted to examine whether Chinese English-leamers , especially collegestudents, have morphological awareness and develop accuracy in their morphophonological processing,and whether English proficiency modulates this. The re-sults of the first experiment suggested that partici-pants experienced greater difficulty in responding to pseudowords constructed with morphological struc-ture (e. g. lamply , or drimbful) than those without (e. g. lampny , or drinbfil) , indicating that they do havemorphologicalawareness.InExperiment2, par- ticipants were asked to read pseudo-derived words with a pseudo-stem combined with either a neutral suffix ( e. g. chosure-chosureness ) or non-neutral suffix ( e. g. distone-distonity) to see whether they were able to use the r le s of stress assignment. Re-sults showed that metalinguistic knowledge of stress asignment and stress accuracy was significantly re-lated to English proficiency. Both experiments sup-port the claim that Chinese English-learners have morphologicalawarenessanddevelopmorphophono- logical accuracy and that this can be at quite a so-phisticated level for more proficient learners.
