The Characteristic Development of the Local Agricultural Colleges and Universities from the International Perspectives

我国地方农业高校应积极借鉴欧美发达国家高等农业教育发展经验,坚持以农为本的办学理念,将社会服务与科技创新、人才培养放在同等重要的位置,以贡献求发展、以农养校,多方位筹措办学资金,提升青年教师的社会服务能力,重点培养应用型、技术型、复合型的地方性人才,重视农业科研和技术推广。

From the international perspectives,the development of local agricultural higher education is facing severe challenges. Based on the experience of other countries, the agricultural higher education in developed countries in Europe and the United States obtained a series of experience and made a lot of reforms and innovations, such as, government attaching great importance to the legislation or appropriations supervision so as to support higher agricultural education, setting up a clear structure pattern and development orientation,using high quality technical services to raise funds for running a school, combining teaching, scientific research and serving the society as a Trinity, attaching importance to the promotion of agricultural scientific research and technology, adjusting the structure of professional disciplines according to the market demand,paying full attention to the teaching practice. Agricultural Colleges and universities in China should actively learn from the experience of developed countries, adhering to the idea of running a school taking agriculture as the foundation, placing social service in the equally important position as in the scientific and technological innovation, and in personnel training, seeking development based on contribution and supporting agricultural development, multi-faceted raising funds for running a school, improving young teachers＇ social service ability, focusing on the cultivation of local talents of application type, technology type and comprehensive type,attaching importance to the promotion of agricultural scientific research and technology.
