从《条款官话》看晚清时期的琉球外交

《条款官话》为诸多琉球"官话"之一。与其他以学习汉语为目的的官话不同,《条款官话》以问答为形式,细致深入地记录了清末琉球的外交活动。生存于中日夹缝中的琉球国对华态度虚与委蛇,其中日"两属"所引发的政治身份焦虑在《条款官话》中有所呈现;对于英法骚扰那霸港事件,琉球人出于自保目的,对清朝政府也采取了隐瞒态度。《条款官话》集中体现了晚清时期国际政治生态下琉球的政治处境及其"小国外交"策略。

Unlike other official languages with the purpose of learning Chinese,"Tiao Kuan Language"is one of the official languages in Ryukyu island,presented in the forms of questions and answers,meticulously recording Ryukyu's diplomatic activities in the late Qing Dynasty. Struggling between China and Japan,Ryukyu dealt with China courteously but without sincerity. Its "double-identity"anxieties were illustrated in the book Tiao Kuan Official Language; With the Naha Port Event started by British and France,Ryukyu took the fundamental principle of self-protection by concealing it from the Qing government. This book shows fully the"small country diplomacy"strategy of Ryukyu under the international political ecology in the late Qing Dynasty.
