摘要
陈寅恪治学,素以坚守"学术独立"的个性为人们所钦佩,然其中饱含的忧世淑世精神及理性处置求实与"取鉴"关系的守则,同样值得关注。观其历史研究的种种实践和中年以后一再倡导的"新宋学",除了旨在从方法上建构一种考据与义理兼修的现代学术理想境界外,实际也与此种关注世运,希冀民族文化复兴和国家富强的情结深切相关。探讨和进一步厘清这些问题,显然有助于更为全面地理解陈寅恪史学的个性及其时代特征。
Chen Yinke's sterling historical career has been admired and widely respected for his advocacy of and adherence to "academic independence ". At the same time,one should also note that Chen was quite conscientious about social progress,intended to exercise reason to establish historical factuality and strongly believed in "learning from the past for the present. "His historical writings,especially his interest in reviving Neo-Confucian scholarship from the Song period( 960-1279) in his later life,suggests that Chen's search for a historical method that integrates textual criticism with theoretical interpretation extended his social ideas and conscience. In many ways,Chen's research was related to his desire to revive traditional Chinese culture and the Chinese nation,hoping to restore its past glory and prosperity. By exploring these questions and interests, the author contends, it would help readers to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of Chen Yinke's scholarly achievement.
