《李长之文集》失收的新诗材料经整理得诗8首、译作3首、诗话1篇。由这批文献出发,管窥李长之54年新诗生涯,足见他是新诗发展史上的多面手。20世纪30年代中期,李长之与卞之琳、林庚等人交往密切,并将《益世报·文学副刊》打造成自由诗创作者的重要阵地。他致力于译介德语诗歌,希图以德诗的精神和生命力来疗补中国新诗。在新诗批评领域,李长之见解精当,并自觉反思新诗批评文体,是为现代诗论转型的重要一员。

Li Changzhi＇s modern poetry works that uncollected into The Anthology of Li Changzhi include 8 poems, 3 translated poems, and 1 piece of poetry notes. And it can be concluded that Li Changzhi is an all-round figure in the history of Chinese modern poetry by appraising his 54 years＇ poetic career through these works. In the mid of1930 s, Li Changzhi kept close contact with many poets such as Bian Zhilin, Lin Geng, and completed the transition of the publication Literary Supplement of Yishi Daily into an important stronghold for free verse poetry. He devoted himself to the translation of German poetry in order to nourish Chinese modern poetry with the spirit and vitality of German poetry. In the field of poetry criticism, Li Changzhi contributed many incisive opinions, and consciously made reflections on critical style of modern poetry, which established his important position in the transition of Chinese modern poetics.
