元培学院以北京大学老校长蔡元培先生命名,是本科教育改革的试验基地,借鉴世界优秀大学的成功经验,贯彻加强基础、促进交叉、尊重选择、卓越教学的方针,建立中国特色的博雅教育计划和北大风格的本科人才培养模式,通过设置面向未来的交叉学科专业,建立前瞻性课程体系,创建全方位的高水平导师制度、建设中国特色的住宿制书院,搭建宽广的国际交流平台,培养具有爱国情怀、国际视野、创新精神和实践能力的引领未来的人。

Yuanpei College is named after Mr.Cai Yuanpei,the former president of Peking University,and is hailed as the experiment base of undergraduate education reform in Peking University.By borrowing the successful experiences of the world top universities and implementing the policy to " Strengthening Fundamental and General Education,Promoting Interdisciplinary Studies,Respecting Free Choice and Pursuing Excellence in Teaching",Yuanpei College has developed Plans of Liberal Arts Education with Chinese characteristics as well as an undergraduate elite cultivating model and management system of Peking University style;it has also developed a proactive curriculum system and established an all-round high-level tutorial system by setting up future-oriented interdisciplinary majors.Based on the domestically leading accommodation-providing academy,Yuanpei College has put up an extensive platform for international exchange,and is sparing no efforts to train top-quality talents with patriotism,international vision,innovativeness and practical abilities in all walks of life.
