“允执其中”的字义训诂及其哲学解读

Exegesis and Philosophical Interpretation of the Proposition “Yun Zhi Qi Zhong”

在《论语》诠释史上,历代学者对"允执其中"这个命题的字义训解颇为丰富,折衷诸家之说,"允"可释为"诚信持久","执"可释为"操持掌握",而"中"的解释,似宜遵从朱熹之见理解为"无过、不及",而学界对"允执其中"所做的哲学解读,多从"何以执中""如何执中"和"孰能执中"三个层面进行,其中的智慧于今亦有相当重要的启发和借鉴意义。

In the interpretation of The Analects of Confucius,there are a variety of explanations of the proposition ＂Yun Zhi Qi Zhong ＂by scholars in different dynasties. Based on a contrastive study of all these explanations,it is the best to explain ＂Yun（允） ＂as ＂sincerely and persistently＂,＂Zhi（执） ＂as ＂hold＂,and＂Zhong（中） ＂as＂moderate＂according to Zhu Xi. The proposition has been interpreted from three aspects： why the center is held,howthe center is held and who can hold to the center,which is of great intelligence and enlightenment today.
