The Development of Continuing Education of Primary and Secondary School Teachers in China: Issues and Thoughts of Reform

中小学教师继续教育是建设高素质、专业化教师队伍的重要途径。经过多年的发展和推进,我国中小学教师继续教育已基本实现制度化、规划化和科学化,但也存在不少问题。应制定具有全局性、全面性、层次性和面向未来的中小学教师继续教育发展的战略和策略,以推进教师继续教育的可持续发展。

Continuing education is an important way of building a high quality and professional primary and middle school teaching teams. The review of the development of primary and secondary school teachers' continuing education since the founding of P.R. China finds that teachers' continuing education is wellorganized, well-planned and is financially and policy supported. To promote sustainable development of teachers' continuing education, strategic efforts are needed to develop future-oriented continuing education for teachers from all aspects and all levels.
