脑死亡标准辨析——基于个人同一性理论的考察

Discriminating the Death Criteria:An Analysis Based on the Theory of Personal Identity

流行的死亡标准是全脑死亡标准和脑干死亡标准。然而随着脑科学的发展,全脑死亡标准和脑干死亡标准已不足以说明死亡的含义。通过分析流行的死亡标准可以看到,无论在理论还是实践上,全脑死亡标准和脑干死亡标准都面临着根本的困难。基于个人同一性的理论视角,脑半球死亡与新皮层死亡是可以得到合理哲学辩护的死亡标准。

The whole-brain death and the brain-stem death are the two prevailing death criteria. However,as the studies on brain science continues,the whole-brain death and the brain-stem death are inadequate to illustrate the implications of death of our kind. I argue that my analysis on the prevailing death criteria is enough to present the difficulties of the whole-brain death as well as the brain-stem death. Based on the theory of personal identity,I propose that the alternative death criteria that can be philosophically justified are hemispheric death and neocortical death.
