《高莽书影录》作为一部文化名家的研究专著,有许多创新之处。一是体例上的创新。全书分为甲、乙、丙、丁四卷,分别从"书影录""生平简述""大家说高莽""高莽研究资料及著述简目"四个方面展现了高莽先生的文化成就。二是内容上的创新。主要体现在"书影录"部分,它打破了中国传统意义上的"书影录"版本目录学的范畴,形成一种集书评、书介、书话于一体的杂糅文体,向读者传递了一种著作的完整信息。三是编排上的创新。与著者此前的《莱芜现代三贤书影录》相比,编排更为用心独到,尤其是淡化了书话色彩,使其向着一部研究专著方向大大迈进了一步。
