On Jan. 8th, 2018, the second prize of 2017 National Science & Technology Progress Awards went to the R&D project in the key technologies and application of highperformance fiber and paper based functional materials. The project, which is the only rewarded one among five applied pulp and paper projects in 2017, was led by Zhang Meiyun, the professor in Shaanxi University of Science & Technology. We released this good news in the new-media platform(wechat official "cppinet") as soon as it came out, and performed an exclusive interview with Prof. Zhang Meiyun for further understanding of the awarding project. "Science and technology innovation plays an essential role in the development of pulp and paper industry. Therefore, talent cultivation, as the prerequisite of technology innovation, seems especially important in industrial development." said Prof. Zhang, when talking about the sustainable development of specialty paper manufacturers in the interview.
