二十世纪美国文学中阿拉伯穆斯林形象研究

Title:The Study of Arab Images in American Literature of 20th Century

十九世纪去圣地旅游的热情促使很多美国作家以游记文学的形式描写阿拉伯地区和穆斯林形象,而这些描写基本是否定的,无外乎阿拉伯地区的荒凉以及愚昧、野蛮的穆斯林民族。进入二十世纪,在一些描写阿拉伯地区穆斯林形象的作品中,穆斯林形象的描写出现了变化,因此本文力图探求二十世纪美国主流文学作品中对阿拉伯地区和穆斯林的形象塑造,梳理出世纪更迭时期阿拉伯穆斯林形象塑造的演变。

Because of the enthusiasm of pilgrimage to the Holy Land in nineteenth Century,many American writers described Arabia and Muslim images through literary travel notes,while their descriptions are basically negative,not only the desolation of Arabia,but also the fatuous,barbaric Muslim people. In the twentieth Century,there are some works which depict Arabia and Muslim images. The description of Muslim images in these works has changed. Therefore,the image of Arabia and Muslims in American literature of the twentieth Century were explored in this paper.
