Komatsu Michihiko: Expecting to Drive China-Japan Relation Forward in 2018

1998年3月，日本国驻华大使馆领事部驻重庆办公室设立（2005年1月升格为总领事馆），这是新中国成立后外国在重庆开设的第一家领事机构。2018年是《中日和平友好条约》签订40周年，也是日本国驻重庆总领事馆成立20周年。

In the March of 1998, New China's first foreign consular institution, Chongqing Office of the Consular Section of the Embassy of Japan, was established, and was upgraded to consulate general in January 2005. The year 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the signing of China-Japan Peace and Friendship Treaty, as well as the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Consulate General of Japan in Chongqing. In order to celebrate, Consulate General of Japan in Chongqing hosted the commendation ceremony for the Commemorative Badge of the 20th Anniversary. The solicitation of the badge design had drawn much attention and contribution from enthusiasts in the consular district. A design from Li Songwei, a student of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, won the solicitation with preponderant votes from Wechat and Weibo users.Hosted in the official residence of Consulate General of Japan in Chongqing, the commendation ceremony was attended by personnel of Consulate General of Japan in Chongqing, Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, Japan Club in Chongqing, Cruise Club, Chong West Returned Scholars Association Japan Section, participants of the badge design solicitation, etc. Consul-General of Japan in Chongqing Komatsu Michihiko shared his perspectives on future ChinaJapan cooperation and opportunities during the interview by our journalist after the ceremony.
