Husserl and Hegel: How Is Political Phenomenology Possible?

The essay first discusses issues related to the definition of the concepts of political experience and political phenomenon in phenomenology, and puts forth three questions fundamental to political phe- nomenology. Secondly, it argues that it is not possible to develop some form of political phenomenology based on Husserl＇ s works. Thirdly, based on a new interpretation of the master-slave relationship in He- gel＇s Phenomenology of Spirit, the essay shows that the concept ＂recognition＂ is central to HegePs politi- cal phenomenology, and public space is related to the question of the realization of self-consciousness.
