从莎士比亚作品在印度的翻译改编、印度的莎士比亚研究两个方面出发，对莎士比亚在印度的跨文化传播进行初步介绍。印度的莎剧翻译和改编打上了深刻的时代烙印，带有明显的文化挪用痕迹。印度学者的莎学研究既受到西方同行的影响，也有自己的特色即“逆写帝国”似的梵语诗学批评或印度视角下的跨文化批评，他们的莎学研究增添了世界莎学的活力，极大地丰富了世界莎学内容。本文在比较印度、中国莎学研究的基础上，尝试提出一些建议，以促进21世纪中国莎学的创新研究。

This article tries to analyze how William Shakespeare was transmitted trans - culturally through the two aspects ： The translations and adaptations of and the researches on his works in India. The translations and adaptations of William Shakespeare＇ s works in India went along with the times, which was undertaken in terms of cultural appropriations and so - called Empire Writing Back. Shakespeare study in India has been under the influences of Western modes. Shakespeare scholars in India prefer to investigate the target texts from the perspectives of comparative literature as well as native Indian culture, including Sanskrit poetics, which is an impetus for Shakespeare study in the world in general and China in particu- lar. Shakespeare study in India has constructive implications for Shakespeare scholars in China.
