A heterogeneous experiment model is established to quantitatively characterize the emulsion profile-control performance in porous media during the muhi-layer production in offshore oilfiehh The experiments with different permeability combinations, particle combinations and emulsion concentrations are designed and conducted. Based on the laboratory experiment result, the fractional flow rate and its modifying coefficient arc introduced to quantitatively characterize the emulsion profile-control performance. Research indicates that thc emulsion profile- control performance enhances with the increase of permeability contrast and emulsion concentration. The optimum profile-eontrol performance is achieved when the particle matching factor reaches 1. Emulsion profile-control treat- ment is implemented in the Bohai X Oilfield and the prediction with an error of less than 5% is very close to that of aetual peff, rmance. It is also considered that the quantitative characterization of emulsion profite-control is a complex issue, which is dependent on emulsion properties, reservoir geology and process. A eomprehcnsive rescarch is suggested to more actually characterize the emulsion profile-control performance and realize efficient reservoir development. The quantitative characterization of emulsion profile-control performanee in offshore multi-layer production oil reservoir could provide certain reference for the emulsion prufile-contrul prngram design.
