Snowfall along a railway in extremely cold region is very common in winter. It oiten occurs that wayside signal equipment may be stroke or even damaged by falling icy blocks which is made from thick snow due to temperature changes. Experiences in the application and protection of trackside train control system equipment in Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway is introduced, providing reference for other railways in extremely cold region.
